Stop our routines, livelihoods, goings and comings,
Cancelling shows, the sports games and recitals felt numbing.
The weddings, graduations, baby showers and such,
Would be put on hold and not thought of much.
Yet the one thing we never expected to hear:
To stop seeing and hugging those whom we held most dear.
We have gone through a lot in our history together,
But never had such a strange order to measure.
I now know the pain AND the power of CARE,
Longing for a time when we’ll once again share.
It’s the missing embrace and much-needed affection,
The simplest of joys now but a fond recollection.
One thing we may have never been told:
A hug will always have more value than gold.
For the many that pass on unseen and alone,
A descriptive reminder of the harsh emotional tone.
May this LIFETIME LESSON not vanish quick and quiet,
But rather linger in us causing INTERNAL riot.
For the one thing I hope never to do over again:
To put off the GATHERING of family and friends.
This is a short poem that reflects the sentiments during this season of the Covid19 pandemic.
GOD, teach us and mold us NOW so that after this time we may be MORE hospitable than EVER to the world around us! Even now we can, in creative ways, REACH and LOVE others as God desires.

So beautiful sis:) One thing we know is we only have this day to live and love on earth. I never want to put off sharing love to those I hold most dear. No day is a guarantee regardless of what is going on or not going on. There is a forever for those that choose it and I hope we all live in such a way that we can share that hope.
TODAY is the day God has given us to LIVE. Let us give THANKS in THIS day. 🙂
