Yes, today is my birthday! “43 and feeling free” is my motto for the year!

I have gotten away from writing on the blog, but I hope to aim for doing a blog a month.

So, God has been doing something NEW this year in my life: He’s inspiring me to write and compose songs with Him! I feel like Moses when he told God he wasn’t quite good enough for the task (of speaking to Pharaoh as God’s representative and getting the Israelites out of slavery). The excuses are there, the self-justification is tempting, but He has done too many miracles and holy nudges for me to doubt Him now. I tried saying “Why me” but then I sensed more of His presence and confirmation. Sometimes our own inadequacy is exactly what God will call us to surrender so He can do more, and actually get the credit and glory He deserves in and through us!
When songs are gifted to you by God it’s like you can’t take credit; it is His work and not something I even set out to do this year! For this season, I am deeply grateful that He chooses to sing over me. His Word even says:

Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you.
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Here is the first simple song God gave me below and I pray it blesses you (even without hearing the music to accompany the lyrics)! I wasn’t trying to write a song but God truly sang this one in my heart:
Verse 1:
I say I seek You, but it can just be about me wanting clarity
And yes you give me: peace, love and endurance
But what if I choose to come just for who You are?
Chorus: MAKE ME A CHILD
One who loves YOU more purely, innocent and SIMPLY
Just for who YOU are: My Dad
Verse 2
In a moment
Oh how You alone transform me
Rid me of my pride
It is astounding
So long have I been drowning
In my own selfish ambition
And now I am set free
Chorus:
You made me Your child!
One who loves You more purely
Innocent and simply
Just for who You are
My Dad
Bridge: In all the expectations
Human facilitations
You are not impressed
No matter how I’m dressed
It’s in the silent stirrings
Of Your intimate presence
I am made whole
Just You and I alone
Chorus: Make me a child
One who loves You more purely
Innocent and simply
Just for who You are….
You made me Your child!
Radiant and Holy
Just like You
MY DAD.
I love you, DADDY.
May God’s will be done in our lives each year that we live on this earth. We can be called HIS CHILDREN no matter how old we become! What comfort and reassurance that brings me today: I can keep my “little girl” status before My Heavenly Daddy.
Dear one, HE CARES FOR YOU as His precious princess. Is there something BIGGER than your own dreams that HE is calling you to? FEAR NOT for HE is there and will walk beside you down each unknown pathway. I know it’s uncomfortable, and that is right where He wants us. Learn to trust Him for He is trustworthy. Hold His hand and don’t let go, dear daughter of the King.
Leave a message to let me know you were here friend. 🙂 One of my favorite songs below for you to enjoy as well!
Sending love and blessings to YOU with lots of love at 43,
